What's New (as of March 2008)
Welcome to the Frampton Irish Website. The Frampton Irish website is dedicated to the history and genealogy of the Irish people who emigrated from Ireland to the vicinity of Frampton Township in Dorchester County of Lower Canada (Quebec) in the early 19th century. The website is provided in the English language to enable English speakers to obtain information about their Irish ancestors who lived in the Frampton area of French Quebec (QC). Frampton, Quebec is located about 30 southeast of Quebec City.
I want to thank all of you who have purchased some of my research products or used my research services. Although it has not been a booming business, it has at least contributed to making my expenses for maintaining the webpage, putting together the products and continued research.

Works in progress: After my trip to Quebec in the summer of 2007, I discovered a few new sources for research. A few marriage and death indices had given me clues to some additional information for the Frampton Irish. This coupled with the "Drouin Collection" going on-line with Ancestry.com has enabled me to extract a lot more information. For example, I am currently working on extracting all the Protestant events for the Frampton Irish. All of this information will go into a third edition of An Index of Irish Families of Dorchester County, Quebec (Frampton and Vicinity). Keep checking back for when this publication is released.

Customized reports available: Many of you have now asked for and received a "custom report" on your Frampton Irish ancestral families from me. I think that these reports have saved the recipient many hours of hard research. It also allows me to take a closer look at each family I do this for. This service provides a "custom report" on everything I know and have in my indices on a person's individual ancestors for the cost of only $25.00 plus .15 cents for each photo-copy I make, plus postage and handling. If you wish to obtain this service, e-mail me first with the names of your Frampton Irish ancestors so I might determine how much information I have. If I have very little information on your ancestors, I will provide that at no cost. If I have sufficient information to generate a report, I will give you a firm estimate of the cost.

Obtaining copies of original records: I also offer a service of searching for and obtaining copies of original records on your ancestors.(Wouldn't you like to have a copy of your ancestors original land entry in the Frampton vicinity?) I will provide this service for $30.00 with the addition of $5.75 for each microfilm I must rent and .15 cents for each page I photo-copy plus postage and handling. E-mail me first with the names of your ancestors so I can determine from my indices, how many records are available and give you an approximate cost.

Records from the Register of Notaire Joseph Valentin Gagnon: Joseph Valentin Gagnon is the only 19th century notaire that actually lived in Frampton during the tenure of his service. He recorded many documents of the Frampton Irish. For whatever reason, Gagnon's register is not available on microfilm at the LDS Family History Library. I have purchased the microfilm that contains his register. I can search for, find, and copy the documents from his register for my standard records retrieval and copying service of $30.00 plus .15 cents per page of copy plus postage to your location. Most of the documents are in the English language. To see a list of Frampton Irish persons who have documents on his register, click the button on this page for Notaire Gagnon.

Frampton Irish blog: I am starting a Frampton Irish blog. I hope to make an entry a least once per month. I will try to include new things and sources for Frampton Irish research, bits of historical facts I am discovering that are related to the Frampton Irish, my current research activities and research tips. Click on the blog button to see what is there.
